Vidya 'Silk' Balan, today rceived the prestigious National award for her marvelous performance in The Dirty Picture in New Delhi. Vice President Hamid Ansari handed over the trophy to the actress; the film is a biopic on southern siren Silk Smitha. The actress was dressed traditionally in a pink Kanjeevaram silk saree and diamond jumkas. She was accompanied by her parents. "I have given my hundred percent and have garnered loads of appreciation from my audience, which actually is my award. But, it really is a sense of pride, when one wins National award," Vidya was quoted saying. Interestingly Vidya's boyfriend, Siddharth Roy Kapoor, was also at the ceremony collecting the Best Children's Film award for Chillar Party on behalf of producers UTV Motion Pictures.
Looks like everything is going well for the actress!
