You look Marvelous! Comicbook superheroes “The Avengers” not only decimated alien invaders while busting up New York City landmarks but also
scored big at the box office with a predicted recordshattering weekend opening.
Disney is bragging that the $220 million 3D production will not only rake in $175 million for its threeday opening but also conquer the planet with worldwide ticket sales of more than $500 million and counting.

Marvel’s “A team” — Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans ), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow Scarlett Johansson), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) — pulverized the old record holder. The 2011 weekend debut of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” conjured up $169 million at the box office.
